Arizona Iced Tea Rebrand
For my rebranding project, I chose Arizona Iced Tea. I decided to make the logo/label style modern and clean to set it apart from Arizona's original logo. When I walk down the aisle of grocery stores, brands with simple text and bold colors stand out to me the most in comparison to brands with a busy label. I wanted a classic, timeless logo with a muted color palette.
The original Arizona logo includes three colors and an aztec design. The logo for this company isn't displayed among all of their products, however, so that is something I focused on when rebranding this tea. I wanted all of the products to look the same with only minor changes based on flavor in order catch the customer's eye when walking down an aisle. To keep the aztec feel from the original logo, I made my lettering a geometric, sans serif type.
For my magazine ad, I decided to fill the entire page with an image. I love the detail of the bottle in focus and the bokeh effect. I think this would stand out next to other magazine ads that have illustrations/white space.
My choice of type followed after I decided to make my logo's type a geometric sans serif. I took the crossbar out of the A's to make it even more modern and have an aspect that is recognizable. The original type is Champagne & Limousines, so I stuck with that type for the back label. I made the flavor typeface another sans serif to compliment the logo while not over-powering it. Lastly, for the type "naturally flavored," I chose a script to pair with the sans serif fonts. I wanted something rustic and simple to match the hand-drawn leaves and fruits on the label.
